This Merlot from Chile was aged mainly in stainless steel tanks and has a nose redolent of plums and blackberries, complemented by a fine, subtle spice and notes of toast. The Santa Carolina Cellar Selection Merlot is velvety and full-bodied on the palate, with sweet tannins.

Santa Carolina
Merlot “Reserva” 2016
Santa Carolina
Aromas of licorice, prune and leather try hard to hold up but fade to herbal and soupy. High tartaric acidity throws the palate out of balance, while this tastes of generic plum and prune. A short chewy finish closes this out.

CHÂTEAU CALON-SEGUR
Saint-Estèphe de Calon Ségur 2015
CHÂTEAU CALON-SEGUR
Bright, red-toned in the glass. The nose is very attractive, quite rich and opulent in style, macerated black cherries, cassis and violet, nicely defined and gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is smooth with ripe blackberry and boysenberry fruit. There is a little graininess to the texture and a pleasant salinity, leaving a marine-influenced residue in the mouth towards the finish.

Château Clinet
Château Clinet 2013
Château Clinet
The 2013 Clinet was one of the better wines that I tasted from barrel. Indeed both Robert Parker and I scored this Pomerol around the same mark and now it is in bottle, it has fulfilled my expectations as a delicious, easy-going, but still well-crafted wine from Ronan Laborde. It has a delicate but precise bouquet that gains intensity in the glass, cassis and a touch of wild mint, ground pepper emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin that need another 12-18 months to soften, however there is adequate fruit underneath with a linear, slightly sappy finish. Enjoy this over the next 10-12 years - 91 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

CHÂTEAU D'ISSAN
Blason d’issan 2013
CHÂTEAU D'ISSAN
Dense, dark garnet color, drawing on purple in its youth. For the Margaux appellation, we find black fruits, such as blackcurrant or blackcurrant, sometimes cooked, and an empyreumatic that gives off aromas of roasted coffee or licorice.

CHÂTEAU KIRWAN
Charmes de Kirwan 2015
CHÂTEAU KIRWAN
Bottled after maturing for 18 months, it already bodes quite well. Its hue is a rich deep red with violet highlights, typical of young wines from great vintages. An intense nose blends notes of cherry and blackberry with subtle hints of chocolate. It is ample and unctuous in the mouth, with a distinct fleshy character. Understated tannins prolong the tasting experience while lending softness to the wine. Thanks to its mature aromas and velvety texture, this wine is already ripe for tasting, although its concentration ensures that it will age well for many years to come. See for yourself

CHÂTEAU KIRWAN
Château Kirwan 3ème Cru Classé 2014
CHÂTEAU KIRWAN
The wine has a deep colour and so far, shows no trace of evolution. The nose is highly complex, a blend of fresh berries with delicate notes of vanilla and caramel. On the palate, its roundness and smooth body immediately impresses. The fruity and spicy flavours continue to develop with no harshness present. This wine is superbly balanced and clearly reflects its origins. The gentle elegance makes waiting a challenge but there is no doubt that this wine has everything it takes to age beautifully and for many years.
