Wines from Toro region of Spain are just great. Deep red for this 100% Tempranillo, showing juicy dark fruit aromas and wafts of spice. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with cacao and pepper oak spice, nice firm tannins that carry this wine to a long finish. Nice value, will age!!

Bodegas San Román is situated in the Toro DO of the Castilla y León region in northwestern Spain. It is owned by Bodegas Mauro, and was established in 1997 to capture the soil characteristics of the Toro region – loose and stony with clay subsoil that crucially retains water, essential in such a dry region.
